Brookside Capital Partners is pleased to announce its participation in the Small Business Investing Scholars Program having welcomed Melanie Ipyam as a Summer Intern on its investment team. Ms. Ipyam, a Deans Scholar at the University of Southern California, is majoring in International Relations and the Global Economy and minoring in Business Finance. During her eight-week internship, Ms. Ipyam was closely-engaged in diverse activities, including reviewing potential investments, presenting the analyses at pipeline meetings, conducting industry research and assisting with portfolio management.

“We are committed to equality and building diversity in the workplace, so being a participant in the Small Business Investing Scholars Program was a natural fit. We enjoyed having Melanie as part of the team and she made valuable contributions to all of the projects she worked on” said Corey Sclar, Managing Partner at Brookside Capital Partners.

The Small Business Investing Scholars Program is an initiative to create inclusion within the Small Business Investment Company (SBIC) community by promoting gender, racial and ethnic diversity by giving young professionals the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the private equity and direct lending industries.
